001Description
I was working in Tokyo in early 1989 and I distinctly remember walking into this Nissan showroom because it was very near, perhaps next door, to the building my office with Fuji Xerox was in, Sunshine 60. It's difficult to describe the attraction of the aesthetics of the so-called Kei cars and trucks, but from my perspective a vehicle such as the one here is irresistible. It's practical, daring, funky, toy-like, quirky and oddly appealing. I mean, there's a sky roof! And buggy pop-up headlights! It's so simply designed, and so lovable. Needless to say, I wanted to buy one! Beyond the vehicle itself, the image with all its reflective surfaces, and especially printed as a Cibachrome, has its own appeal.
