Description

Robert ParkeHarrison is best known for his collaborative work with his partner Shana, such as the series "The Architect's Brother". This is a photograph that carries forward the environmentally aware themes that run through their work. Her we are shown a close up of a pair of men's shoes whose soles have been attached to a "sandwich" of plywood blocks, which are connected by a number of springs. The lower plywood block of the "sandwich" is cushioned by "pillows". The device, purportedly created to lighten one's environmental "footprint", is roughly made, even crude.
