In another departure from his preferred method of making images into woodblock prints, here Endi has elected to make an etching. His flying machines are all so fantastic to look at, appearing simultaneously as static, monumental, fantastical toys and as threatening doomsday weapons. The well-defined shadow beneath this dirigible adds to the feeling of immobility, while the angry dramatic diagonal slashes intersecting the sky creates a sense of foreboding.Inscription/Signature/Marks
