This massive stone escarpment defies gravity, appearing to float in an undefined space. The rifts in its surfaces make it seem that it's ready to break into pieces, and the flat left edge of the structure looks as if it's been sheared away from its point of origin by a freakish god wielding a titanic circular saw. Much of Endi's imagery is often based on actual landscapes he has seen, and is rooted in themes of displacement. Here he may be referencing some of the awful environmental issues that we face, but I am sure that there are layers and layers of additional meaning to be discovered in this beautifully drawn lithograph.
