Description

The regal figure that graces the "stage" found underneath the tower has a "thought bubble" made from a MOMA visitor's pin. I scratched the paint away to inscribe the text "What in life is there to tire of?" The tower of this piece was built somewhat differently, using strips of plywood cut and recut to create the variegated look the tower now has. Behind the distorted, slender vertical wood strips at the top of the tower is concealed a house shape, and behind that is a form that suggests clouds, or smoke. Embedded in the base under the tower is a horse-shaped child's puzzle piece, while underneath the base itself is a square enclave where two cardinals perch.
