I met this artist at a popup tented venue, in which he had a number of works on hand. Obviously this is a quirky image, almost cartoon-like, yet it compels you to look and look again. The artist used a creamy wash in the sky to obscure earlier marks, which makes you wonder: what is hidden underneath? And what is the hidden message here? Although the "simple" text "Miss Your Future" is scrawled onto the surface, is that a threat, an admonition, or a warning? Or something else? The figure sprawled onto a rocky, alien surface doesn't really seem to have been prepared for outer space; his clothing looks like sweat pants and a jacket, with rubber rain boots. The cone that emerges from the cracked space helmet contains what could be a landscape or a dream, some kind of vision.
