The multiple criss-crossing, fluid elements disguise the rectangular bars that intrude from the four edges of the drawing. The undulating bands of color are interwoven and are of different thicknesses, and move visually from edge to edge and from top to bottom. Patches of light peek through in places and generate energy, defying the weight of the more massive shapes that might otherwise dominate the image. I borrowed the title from a song by the tremendous indie band Uncle Tupelo.Inscription/Signature/Marks
