Description

I see this piece as a mountain, topped by a lightless house with a ravaged roof. I used to put roofs on houses when I was a young working-man; now it's increasingly difficult for me to stay under one for long. I see the four sides of this mountain differently, but all archaeologically: there are things to unearth everywhere. And under it all is a stage-set with a tall building with painted windows as Roger Brown would have done. In fact, that's Roger looking out at us from the front window. The characters in the other windows: Dylan, WG Sebald, and, bringing up the rear, me. I found the "feet" for this one at a flea market in Rome (which I modified) and the "buried objects" come from Ba-De Road market in Taipei.
