I had the privilege of knowing Wei Bor for several years before he passed away. In fact, I was a guest in his house on more than occasion, and I even assisted him printing one of his images when he came to Taipei American School at my invitation. If you look at the edges of this image, you can see that it's not a perfect rectangle; this is because Wei Bor used a block of ebony wood in its natural form. Wei Bor was an astute observer and portrayed life in the rural areas of Taiwan and China with a keen sense of place.Inscription/Signature/Marks
