And, of course, in front is cute little Leslie Horsman—her Dad also had the beautiful convertible car we sat on during the parade. The ladies in the back row (4th from left) are Shirley Graves (who organized the majorettes and taught us how to do the May Pole Dance) and next to her (5th from left) is Mrs. Donald Elliott (Eileen). Don was a prominent member of the community. I think the man on the extreme left in the back row is “Babe Dowling” who only had one leg—he walked the entire PNE parade for the Lion’s Club using only his crutches. We thought he was superman. I believe the large man was either a Mayor or a Reeve of the District of North Vancouver (standing with his wife).Collection
