Stony Brook on Meddybemps Lake

Meddybemps Lake, USGS Topographical Map, 1987: Stony Brook was the original outlet on Meddybemps Lake, above Eaton Point emptying into the St. Croix River.  During the settlement of the area following the American Revolution, lumbermen from Dennysville built a berm across the mouth of Stony Brook, forcing the water to flow south through the Dennys River towards the mills in Dennysville and Edmunds.
