Description

The Slick on the lower Dennys River, and map, reproduced from "Salmon on the Dennys, 1786-1988", by Ed Bartlett and Ray Robinson.

Context

Above Charlie's Rips is a separate pool called The Slick. A favorite spot for salmon to lie, it has deep water at the head and shallows to about 2 feet deep at the tail. It is shaded in the morning, and, when sensing danger, the fish can easily swim to the deeper water.
