This current building was originally the Maine Sardine Packers Association clubhouse, often rented out for wedding receptions, conferences and other activities. By the 1990's the clubhouse had become a private residence and has undergone a number of renovations.Context
The cannery owners in Eastport and Lubec built a clubhouse at the end of the road on Hinkley Point in the 1940's for their recreation and social benefit. It was also made available for community use, and hosted many receptions and public celebrations until was sold privately around 1980.Collection
