Context

Javier Vilató was born in Barcelona and carried out a rich artistic career as a sculpture, engraver and painter in both his home city as well as Paris. As a nephew of Pablo Picasso, the two shared a close bond. This relationship is clearly reflected in Vilató’s artistic style, as it shows elements of cubism and uses a similar color palette.
