Context

""Our Lady of The Moon", the lithograph is a copy of an oil painting of the same title. The painting is the first on a series of works using the theme of "Our Lady of..." I have made several: Our Lady of the Stars, Our Lady of The Opera, Our Lady of the Insects, etc. All the works have a central, powerful, sinister female figure. The inspiration for this series came after reading Jean Genet novel "Our Lady of the Flowers". This lithograph was printed black and white but its hand colored, water colors and color pencils." - Seirra
