CD-Rom in a clear case with blue writing on the surface.Context
Both poetic and analytic, Adelheid Mers’ work aims to unpack and organize the complicated nature of human interaction with diagrams, spatial arrangements, installations, and on-going collaborations. Mers sees diagrams as useful pictures that have the ability to generate dialogue and different forms of play. She started her career generating spatial arrangements and installations based on her art-based research, which catapulted into an extensively collaborate career as an artist and as a researcher.
A professor of Cultural Policy at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Mers has a keen understanding of cultural processes on a larger scale. Her work is rooted in the diagramming of text, which for Mers is driven by her desire to organize and understand.Acquisition
