Context

Frequently engaging with technology and modernity in his works, Manglano-Ovalle challenges his viewers to question the political and cultural environment around them. He has created technologically sophisticated sculptures and video installations on a spectacular scale; collaborated with scientists, architects, and engineers; and engaged with issues such as immigration, gun violence, and human cloning. “What I want to represent,” he states, “is how the world represents itself to us.”
