BQ4012 .S83 1983Description
A detailed look at the Triratna Buddhist Community (originally known as the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order, or FWBO), founded by Sangharakshita in 1967.
The focus is on how the movement adapts ancient Buddhist teachings to contemporary Western life, emphasizing spiritual friendship, meditation, and a commitment to personal and social transformation:
• Modern Adaptation: Stripping away localized cultural traditions of Asia to focus on the essential, universal core of the Dharma for Western practitioners.
• Community Life: The importance of working and practicing together in spiritual communities rather than separating monastic and lay lives.
• Practical Practice: Integrating mindfulness, ethics, and emotional positivity into daily modern existenceCollection
