This is a Tibetan 'kapala' metal offering dish complete with separate triangular base and lid, 3 pieces total. A kapala (a.k.a. skull cup) is used to hold offerings of herbs and flowers that are mixed with various liquids. The mixture is symbolic of body & mind. The skulls on the 3 corners of the base represent greed, hate and ignorance; the crown-shaped lid represents the enlightened body.
