Description

White plate with blue writing and blue stipe around perimeter. Channel Swimming Association emblem in center. Written on plate: " Suzanne Heim - August 18, 1985 - 10 hrs 11 mins" There is a round orange sticker on front of plate with $1 price marked.

Use

Commemorative plate for Suzanne Heim's English Channel swim on August 18, 1985. Suzanne said she had three plates made in Rye, England (known for pottery) for the director of Hawthorne and Stone real estate which sponsored her swim. After he passed away the plate ended up in a garage sale and was found by member Vic Pizzaro. Suzanne says: " I had them leave the sticker on it just 'cuz it is such a story."

Vic Pizarro, Dolphin member, found it at a garage sale and brought to club June 26, 2015. Note taped to back says, "Rick [Avery, then president], Believe it or not I found this at a S.R. Garage Sale. I would like to return it to Suzanne. I'm not sure she did not intend to get rid of it."
