SFPL Historical Photograph Collection: Written on back: "Photo #7--'Fort-Sutter' Ferry Boat--Two tugs trying to pull boat imbedded in sand during high tide to float said ferry boat & remove same to a new berth--Ferry boats are rapidly become [sic] obsolete in the San Francisco Bay with the Golden Gate Bridge & San Francisco-Oakland Bridge now taking all auto traffic--a new bridge from Richmond to Marin County will eliminate more ferry boats. Attempt is being made to make 'Fort Sutter' a nite club restaurant."
