Rubber name stamp with name of Lawton C. Hughes. Wooden handle, purple ink on rubber name, strip of paper with the likeness of the rubber stamp in black print.
Date of artifact not known.
The stamp belonged to Life Member Lawton Hughes (1899-1992). Lawton was a member from 1919 until his death in 1982 He was a champion rower and coach, and DC President in 1938 and 1966. A boat is named for him.Dimensions

The name stamp (and sunglasses Artifact 387) were left in Lawton's locker after he died. Life member Joe Schatz took over the locker. In February 2024, Joe gave the sunglasses and name stamp to the Archives.General Notes
Note
Lawton was a life member 1919-1982, President in 1938 and 1966, champion rower and coach. There is a wooden boat is named for him.
