Poodle Dog (perhaps a corruption of Poulet d'Or) was a well-known San Francisco French restaurant that opened in 1849. After the 1906 earthquake the restaurant reopened at Bush and Claude Lane. http://www.historysmith.com/tales_lost_poodledog_01_part2.html https://afsanfrancisco.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/poodle-dog-blog2.pdf
