RowingDescription
Wooden sign on Lake Merced Boathouse. Originally made by member Bob Hoff in 1986. Restored in 2021 by member Nick Strelchuk. See Log Summer 2021.
The sign is made of redwood. It was custom shaped and prepped before letters were carved into the board. Then the lettering was lined with gold leaf, a time-consuming task. Final sanding and varnishing complete the job.
The beautiful sign was first dedicated at a celebration on June 22, 1986, naming the Lake Merced shell house in honor of Tom Troneum. See Log Summer 1986.Made/Created
