Note
The cup was presented to 1877 charter member A.P. Rothkopf at his 25th Anniversary of membership in August 1902 (see inscription.) There are several photos of Rothkopf in the Photographs folder.
It appears that Rothkopf regifted the cup with an added inscription to the son of a close friend. The son, John Laidley Hoffann, was born on August 25, 1928. According to the donor, she acquired the cup from John Laidley Hoffmann's brother, Phillip. She and Philip became friends through a shared interest in riding the Muni. After his death, she acquired the cup.
