Postcard - Cedar Street Looking North - 1908Entry/Object ID
2003.02.0020Description
Cedar Street - Looking North - 1908. Picture taken from what is now the 3rd and Michigan intersection. Note the street light suspended above the intersection. The telephone and telegraph wires are on the right side (East side) of the street, and the electric power wires are on the poles on the left (West side) of the street. All of those telephone wires would be going in to the old stone telegraph and telephone switchboard operations building on the left. The telephone switch board was on the second floor. Was the telegraph office in the basement? Also notice the ramps from the sidewalk to the dirt street.Collection
