Crushed velvet dress worn by Barb (Lienau) Lawrence to her Homecoming her senior year of high school 1971.
Note from Barb 1970: I drew this design of a dress I wanted for homecoming my senior year. My mother made the dress without a pattern and it fit perfectly- Crushed velvet fabric was popular at the time. ( Included is a drawing Barb made and a photo of her and Mike Walthers at the Homecoming 1970)

General Notes
Note
Notes: From the donor (Barb Lawrence): "I drew a design of the dress I wanted for that special night and my mother made it without a "real" pattern to follow. Before she got married my mother was one of the first employees at Miller Clothing Store in Sturgeon Bay. She worked as a bookkeeper, store clerk, and was trained how to hem men;s pants. She was an excellent seamstress and made many of my dresses as I was growing up and even a lined wool suit I needed for college and my early teaching career".
