Women's Cream Straw Hat

Entry/Object ID

2017.13.5

Description

Cream-colored straw hat. The crown is quite low (about 1 1/2") and flat; it is encircled with a 1 1/8" band of the same material as the hat, with a decorative excess which sticks out beyond the crown by about 3". The 1 1/2" brim is decorated with netting, artficial leaves, tan flowers and brown beads, which extend about 70% around the circumference. The sweatband is brown and reinforced with velour covered wire. The wire drops down 1 3/4' in a tight loop on each side of the hat, presumably to help keep the hat on the head. The sweatband label reads "22 1/2".
