Entry/Object ID

Description

The present sawmill is operated as the Lily Bay Sawmill. One of the popular products of this sawmill is the Lily Bay Sawmill Crates, which started out as the production of apple crates, but are now a popular item used in homes, stacked together to form book shelves, etc. Lily Bay was also the site of the Wester family sawmill which operated from about 1902 until the late 1940's and the Horm & Mashek sawmill which operated in the 1880's. It is unknown if the last two mentioned sawmills were located at the present sawmill site or if they were located nearby.
