Description
Standard 3 1/2" X 5 1/2" postcard, published by R. Weitlich in 1908, picturing the original Sawyer Methodist Church (before being destroyed by fire in 1911) and the parsonage, which was still standing as of 1971. The postcard is accompanied by a photocopy (not cataloged) of a March 18, 1971 Door County Advocate clipping showing this postcard, with the following caption: "The Post Card that this picture appeared on was dated 1908 and printed in Germany. It shows the old German Methodist church and parsonage in Sawyer. The house still stands and is now occupied by the Robert Ostrand family. The church is long gone and the building that replaced it stands empty, having been relaced by a new United Methodist church on the east side."
