Scope and Content

#VC-99 - Restoration of Jessie Chase Murals. Slide presentation by Tony Rajer dealing with the rescue of the two Jessie Chase WPA murals from the old Sturgeon Bay High School at the time of its demolition and their subsequent resoration and rehanging for display at the Door County Library. The murals, of Sturgeon Bay scenes, were painted as part of a WPA grant in the late 1930's or early 1940's. The program was presented at the April 15, 2002 meeting of the Door County Historical Society, held at Andre's in Sturgeon Bay. The business meeting is included at the beginning of the video.
