Village Personal Property Assessments for Sturgeon Bay 1860 - 1875. Records extracted from Sturgeon Bay Village records by local historian Stanley Greene. This is a typed copy of approximately 308 individual pages found in a few small loose-leaf notebooks and other pages that were just loose in the collection. To conserve space and keep the information together, the information was copied into this document. After triple checking the accuracy of the typing against the poor quality originals, the originals were destroyed. Duplicates of many of the pages were also found and placed in the individual "people" files. There are some years that apparently were not extracted by Mr. Greene and there are a few records that are included from the 1880's.

Note
Notes: The Stanley Greene Collection was received as a large, multi-box collection. Due to Mr. Greene's health problems, the collection had become very disorganized and extremely inter-mixed. To simplify the processing of this large collection, his research papers have been sorted into categories, such as people, businesses and buildings, places, churches and religions, special subjects, etc. Each of these categories was then further sorted into individual folders, arranged alphabetically by name or title. There is still some sorting or arranging that must be done in individual folders. Some pages are missing and may still be found in the wrong folders. The condition and quality of the papers vary.
