Description

Award certificate presented to Joseph Zettel for his collection of apples from the 1892 crop at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Several other items related to the 1893 Columbian Exposition are currently on display and may have been part of the same donation. These items include: • Bronze award medal and case • Silk souvenir ribbon with paper label • Pass or note for "Chicago Day, October 9th, 1893" • 1898 Bronze Medal from the Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition in Omaha, identified as a "Silver Medal for Seedling Apples" The exhibit indicate that all of these items were donated by the Zettel's Grand daughter, Lucille Marx.
