A husband and wife are seated on a Victorian carved banquette and the wife has her left arm draped over the top. She is dressed in black silk and wears gold earrings, two rings on each hand and a white lace collar with pin. The husband is dark eyed and bearded and he sits leaning in and crossed legged. He wears a button jacket and rather strange cross striped pants. An arresting image.
