Name/Title
Mexican SerapeDescription
Finely woven blanket or serape in bands of black and red with design elements in white and blue. The wide black bands near each end have possibly floral patterns consisting of a circle followed by a three leafed image, both in the same color; the pattern color is reversed on the band on the opposite side. The patterns within the blanket are all geometrical, with a central stepped diamond in black with blue "S" patterns and white diamonds inside. The sides of the textile have these same patterns, alternating, all in white. Within the central field there are short white rectangles placed within every seven or eight of the thin black bands.Made/Created
