Balinese Frog Mask

Description

Large carved wooden mask with the face of a frog sporting long hair. The frog's jaw is a second piece attached with small leather hinges. The mask has a hood of plaited bamboo slats covered with black cloth.

Use

Likely made for the tourist trade, although it may have been worn as part of the "monkey dance".
