Name/Title

Pomo Mush Boiler

Description

Acorn mush bowl with much evidence of use- slight burns inside from rocks and a few minor burns on the outside, probably from being near the fire. The seller labeled it as Wintun; Charlie Festerson, who cleaned the basket in April 2003, identified it as Pomo. Design is interesting- full twist on the uppermost band but half twist on first and second bands.

Twined Construction Notes

The uppermost band of rectangle design is full twist but the lower bands of smaller "checkered" designs seem to be half twist overlay.
