Northeast Lidded Splint and Sweetgrass Basket

Description

Very nice ash splint and sweetgrass lidded basket, decorated with bands of red and green dyed thin splints (nearly completely faded away on the exterior) and two-strand twisted sweetgrass. The rims of both the basket and lid are finished with coils of sweetgrass attached with a coil of splint. It is probably Penobscot.
