Universis, et singulis, praesentes literas inspecturis fidem facimus, et attestamus quod Nos ad maiorem Omniotentis Dei gloriam, suorumque Sanctorum venerationem recognovimus sacras particulas ex velo sevice in quo involuta fuerunt ossa S. Pancratii Mar Quas ex authenticis locis extractas reverenter collocavimus in theca deargent. rotundae formae Crystallo munita, bene clausa et funiculo serico coloris rubri colligata, ac sigillo nostro signata, easque tradidimus cum facultate apud se retinedi, extra Urbem transmittendi et publicae Fidelium venerationi exponendi. Monemus autem fideles in quorum manus hae sacrae reliquiae vel in posterum venturae sunt, nullo modo licere eas vendere, nec cum iis rebus quae mercimonii speciem praeseferant, commutare. In quorum fidem has literas testimoniales manu nostra subscriptas, nostroque sigillo firmatas per infrascriptum Sacrarum Reliquiarum Custodem expediri mandavimus. English: LUCIDUS MARIA BY DIVINE MERCY BISHOP OF PORTO AND SANTA RUFINA CARDINAL PAROCCHI OF THE HOLY ROMAN CHURCH VICAR GENERAL OF OUR MOST HOLY LORD, THE POPE SECRETARY OF THE ROMAN AND UNIVERSAL INQUISITION ORDINARY JUDGE OF THE ROMAN CURIA AND ITS DISTRICT, etc. To all and any who shall inspect the present letters, we make known and attest that we, for the greater glory of Almighty God and the veneration of His Saints, have recognized the sacred particles from the silk veil in which the bones were wrapped of Saint Pancras, Martyr. These, having been extracted from authentic places, we have reverently placed in a silver case of round shape, adorned with crystal, well sealed, tied with a red silk cord, and marked with our seal. We have delivered them with the faculty of retaining them, transmitting them outside the City, and exposing them to the public veneration of the Faithful. However, we admonish the faithful into whose hands these sacred relics shall come now or in the future, that it is in no way permitted to sell them or exchange them for items that bear the appearance of commerce. In witness whereof, we have ordered these testimonial letters, signed by our own hand and sealed with our seal, to be issued by the undersigned Custodian of Sacred Relics. At Rome, from our residence, on the 14th day of the month of July, in the year 1899. REG. N. 77g TO BE GIVEN FREE OF CHARGE UNDER ANY TITLE.
