Tea is the de facto national beverage in Russia, due in part to the cold climate. This teaset, decorated with a technique known as cloisonné, where compartments, or cloisons, are made using silver or gold wire and then filled with enamel, demonstrates how elaborate the decorative arts were in Russia during this period.
