Hannah T. Croasdale, a native of Chester County, Pennsylvania, graduated from the Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1870.
She became a member of the College faculty in 1871 and in 1880 became the first Professor and Chairman of the Department of Gynecology when the disciplines of obstetrics and gynecology were separated. She held that position until 1902, when she was named Professor Emerita of Gynecology.
Dr. Croasdale was one of the first women to join the Philadelphia County Medical Society and was an advocate of equal suffrage for women.
