Following her graduation from the Woman’s Medical College in 1943, Grace Nachod spent two years at the Graduate School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania, receiving a diploma in Ophthalmology in 1945. During her long career in ophthalmology, Dr. Nachod held positions as Assistant Surgeon at Wills Eye Hospital and Ophthalmologist for the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. She joined the faculty of the Woman’s Medical College in 1950 and in 1980 was named Professor Emerita of Ophthalmology. She was a member of numerous medical societies, including the American Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and the American Association of Ophthalmologists.
