A 1902 alumnus and faculty member for 65 years, Dr. Wells was important in bridging the “remaking” of Hahnemann. He was a national leader in homeopathy, and was President of the American Institute of Homeopathy in the 1930s. Still, he chaired Hahnemann’s Department of (regular) Medicine from 1931 to 1948, became a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and chaired a medical service of 46 teaching beds at Philadelphia General Hospital. Dr. Wells also planned for full-time clinical faculty at Hahnemann, which was eventually adopted.
