The Sèvres factory was continuously a part of the political order with first royal, then imperial, and finally national patronage. They were so entwined that the 1920 Treaty of Sèvres, the treaty between the Ottoman Empire and the Allies at the end of World War I, was signed in an exhibition room at the Sèvres Porcelain Factory.
