Edward Weston (1886-1958) was a leading photographer known for his soft-focus and pictorial style. In the 1920s he converted to straight photography, a style that uses no manipulation during shooting or developing, and became “one of the most innovative and influential photographers of the 20th century” through his highly detailed close-up images.
