Shore is known for his color photographs of the “banality” of life. When these photographs were created, they were very much disliked, but now seen in the light of nostalgia, these images are
iconic examples of how color photography was pushed into the spotlight of the fine art world. The example held in The Drexel Collection does not look the same as it did when it was first printed by Shore. Color photographs can easily fade if not kept in the right conditions. It can be assumed it was perhaps at one point not stored correctly or it was on display for too long. Understanding of how photographs should be taken care of is a semi-new concept and is currently being utilized to prevent damage or change to the current photographic collection.
