Alen MacWeeney was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1939. He began photographing in 1952, and by the age of 16 he was a press photographer for The Irish Times. In 1960 he was hired by prominent photographer Richard Avedon as an assistant. MacWeeney’s work mainly consists of editorial and advertising assignments, but he is most well-known for his documentary and street photography, as shown here.
