More than 40 floats, bands, drill teams and mounted units participated in the parade, which was followed by the inarch of champions at the fair grounds. Miss Prosser, Melva Grand, and princesses Linda Hileman and Maureen Lemon were rid ing on the sweepstakes float, which used the state’s diamond jubilee as its theme. The float featured large dia monds in motion in the forward portion and used extensive flow ers and a garden house in the shape of a jewel for its decor. AS ONE OF the more than 500 rodeos approved each year by the professional Rodeo Cow boys Association, competition in the Kennewick arena will be conducted under nationally rec ognized rules which assures top bucking stock in hard - fought action open to the best cow boys in the game. On the rodeo event roster this year are: saddle and bareback- bronc riding, bull riding, calf roping, steer wrestling and a wild horse race. Rodeo livestock will be furnished by Joe Kelsey, Tonasket. Prize money won in compe tition here will be credited to the sport’s world championship ti tle standings. Aug. 28 in downtown Kennewick. Parade arrangements are being handled for the seventh consecutive year by the Kennewick Junior Women s Club. Participants should assemble at First Avenue and Wash ington Street. _ Kennewick Junior Women's Club will furnish cash prizes. There will be ice cream for each child in costume. The divisions will be pets, costumes (age 7 and under), costumes (age 8 and older), and wheeled vehicles.
