Description

Ladderback chair by unknown maker probably originating in East Tennessee, three back rails, three pair of incised rings around stiles/posts where back horizontal rails are positioned, knobbed top to stile, replaced Hong Kong grass (hand-twisted course grass) seat in double diamond pattern*, double stretcher rails below seat at front and side/single at back, legs taper below bottom rails, old varnish finish, handmade, 38"h x 15"w x 14"d, 25"h seat, probably third quarter 19th century/ possibly done in Gatlinburg in the 1950s era.
