Description

Counterpane (woven bedspread) made by Rebecca Coleman, flax(?), white with subtle design believed to be a variation of "Mount Vernon" pattern, three 26"w panels hand stitched together, 96"l x 78"w, late 19th-early 20th century/1880?-1920? NOTE: Metal tag with teeth--perhaps a laundry tag--marked "BREED" removed from corner and kept in storage box. Lucy E. Breeding was the maker's daughter.
